We do not merely build furniture; we sculpt heirlooms that anchor families, capture memories, and whisper the quiet poetry of natural wood across generations.

— Elias Thorne, Master Woodworker

The Artisan's Promise

In an era of mass production, true luxury lies in the intentional, the bespoke, and the enduring. Every piece crafted in the Thorne workshop adheres to four unyielding pillars of quality.

Sustainably Sourced

I partner exclusively with ethical arborists, utilizing reclaimed timbers and sustainable local hardwoods to ensure the forest endures alongside the furniture.

Generational Durability

Employing traditional joinery—dovetails, mortise, and tenon—rejecting modern fasteners to create pieces engineered to outlast our lifetimes.

Bespoke Geometry

Every angle, curve, and dimension is mathematically calculated and organically adjusted to fit the specific spatial and ergonomic needs of the client.

Hand-Rubbed Finishes

No synthetic sprays. I utilize natural oils, waxes, and shellacs, applied by hand over days to coax the inner fire and chatoyancy from the wood grain.

The Path to Creation

1

Consultation & Ideation

We begin with a conversation. I visit your space, understand your functional needs, and sketch preliminary geometries. We discuss aesthetics, structural requirements, and the legacy you wish the piece to hold.

2

Material Sourcing

I personally visit lumber yards and arborists to select the exact flitches of wood. You are presented with material options, grain patterns, and we discuss how the wood's natural characteristics will dictate the final design.

3

Fabrication & Joinery

The quiet hours in the workshop. Timber is milled, allowed to acclimate, and meticulously joined using traditional hand-cut techniques. Clients receive regular photographic updates of their piece taking shape.

4

Finishing & Installation

Days are spent applying hand-rubbed oil finishes to seal and protect the wood while highlighting its depth. Finally, I personally deliver and assemble the piece in your home, providing you with lifelong care instructions.

Common Inquiries

Due to the meticulous nature of handcrafted furniture, my current waitlist is approximately 4 to 6 months. Once fabrication begins, a standard dining table takes 4-6 weeks to complete, allowing proper time for wood acclimation and finishing.

Yes. I work with specialized fine-art freight handlers to safely crate, insure, and ship large pieces globally. Shipping costs and customs duties are calculated individually and added to the final proposal.

Occasionally. If you have timber from a tree felled on your property with sentimental value, I am open to working with it. However, the wood must be properly dried (kiln or air-dried to specific moisture content) before I can use it to guarantee the structural integrity of the piece.

I provide a comprehensive care kit and manual with every delivery. Generally, it involves dusting with a microfiber cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners, and re-applying a natural wax formulation (provided) once every 12 to 18 months to maintain the luster.
